Got Your 6 Hosts Celebration of Service Event for Newly Elected Military Veterans in Congress

WASHINGTON, D.C. (Nov. 28, 2012) — On November 28, Got Your 6, along with a host committee comprised of more than 75 current Members of Congress will hold a reception at a private residence on Capitol Hill in order to recognize these veterans who have been newly elected to Congress.

The 113th Congress will welcome twelve new members who have served, including six veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan and the first female combat veterans to serve in Congress. “Got Your 6 is a collective impact initiative created to ensure that veterans are perceived as leaders and civic assets and there is no better demonstration of this than military veterans serving in Congress,” said Chris Marvin, Managing Director of Got Your 6.

The reception will feature a brief formal program including remarks from current Congressional leadership, recently elected veterans, and other special guests from the worlds of government and entertainment.
