Celebrating Five Years of Giving Back with Macy’s
Posted June 28, 2017 by Bill Rausch
Over the past five years, Macy’s customers and associates have had the backs of America’s veterans, generating more than $8.3 million in donations to Got Your 6 and our growing coalition of veterans and military family nonprofit partners.
This year, as the nation comes together to celebrate the Fourth of July, we’re proud to once again partner with Macy’s to support the men and women who served. Starting today to Tuesday, July 4, customers can give $3 at the register at any store or on macys.com, and as a thank you receive a 25 percent off savings pass for select regular-priced and sale items or 15 percent off select regular-priced and sale jewelry, home and sale/clearance watches*. In addition, 100 percent of the $3 will be donated to Got Your 6 and its veteran-focused nonprofit partners.
Thanks to Macy’s support, Got Your 6 and our partners are being provided the resources to fulfill our mission of empowering veterans and delivering real change in small towns and big cities across America.
For example, the funding we’ve generated over the past five years has supported our nonprofit partner Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors, better known as TAPS, in helping 1,400 children – and an equal number of mentors – through programs that focus on grief and healing.
In addition, the funding has helped Hiring our Heroes secure 585,000 commitments to hire veterans and military spouses. These commitments not only translate into increased job opportunities, they empower veterans to showcase their leadership and problem-solving skills within communities all across the country.
Similarly, the donations we’ve received from our Macy’s partnership has supported the work of The 6th Branch, allowing it to expand into neighboring communities in East Baltimore and grow its mission.
Thanks to Macy’s and the generosity of the American people, the lives of tens of thousands of veterans and military family members have been changed. As we celebrate the Fourth of July, visit macys.com/gotyour6 and see how you can help empower those who sacrificed to protect our nation’s freedoms.
